  • Making Robust AI Safeguards Run Deep

    In 2025, frontier AI developers began warning that their systems were crossing risk thresholds for cyber, chemical and biological capabilities. Closed-weight systems remain vulnerable to prompt injection, and open-weight systems to malicious fine-tuning.

    This talk covers tools for making frontier safeguards “run deep,” with a focus on open-weight systems, and the challenge of making safeguards research matter in the real world. Along the way: what AI safety can learn from the design of lightbulbs, and why to keep an eye on Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin in 2026.
